Blog Assignment #9

"What I've Learned This Year" by Mr. McClung

Mr. McClung is saying that you need check that your students understanding what you are teaching. Be sure that you do not put pressure or expectations on your students from your on view. Be sure to communicate with fellow teachers and listen to your students because sometimes that is all a students wants is for you to listen to them. He hit many of the point were I needed to improve and he talked about how to improve those areas.

    I agree with Mr. McClung, we must listen to our students. This is all a part of one of our resounding themes in EDM 310, that we should be willing to learn with the students. If we think we are always right then there is no way we could listen to the students. As long as we are open minded and willing to learn then listening will come automatically. This is also one of the reasons reflection or "reflecting" as Mr. McClung has demonstrated in this post is an important part of being an effective teacher. The mindset of reflection invites openness and a willingness to listen for useable feedback or new ideas. SS

    Mr. McClung hit a lot points of where I need to improve as well. I agree that teachers need to communicate and listen to the students because we can learn so much from them. Great post!
